  • September is Childrens Eye Health and Safety Month which serves as an excellent reminder of the importance of taking steps to prevent kids’ eye injuries.  Eye injuries are the leading cause of blindness in children in the United States. Many are sports related, but accidents with toys, chemicals, fireworks and sharp objects also can damage their eyes. Approximately 90 percent of eye injuries are preventable if protective eyewear is worn. Take steps to protect your kids’ vision by providing protective eyewear appropriate to their activities.

  • July 4th Fireworks Display Safety    As we prepare to celebrate our nation's Independence, July has been designated as Fireworks Eye Safety Month by the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO). Fireworks are a common cause of severe eye and hand injuries that can permanently ruin lives and turn a joyous celebration into a horrible nightmare that is why most states have correctly outlawed the sales of fireworks to the public.  It's simple, fireworks can cause permanent vision loss.
