Eyelid Tumors. Like any skin in the body, the eyelid skin can be affected by skin cancer. Skin cancer can also affect the corners of the eyelid and eye brow region. It can appear as just a bump on the skin. At times, however, it can become an ulcer, bleed, lead to loss of lashes, or distort the eyelid structure. Most skin cancers are slow growing but some more can progress more rapidly. They can also spread locally and some can spread to distant organs in the body. They therefore require surgical removal. Once removed, the eyelids need to be reconstructed to function properly.
